Hours come from the home, not from a guess: one base hour for setup and the kitchen, plus 0.7 hours per bedroom, 0.9 per bathroom and 0.55 per 500 square feet of everything else, multiplied by the service type. A deep clean takes 45% longer than a standard one; post-construction nearly doubles it. The result is rounded to the nearest quarter hour and never drops below your minimum.
Price is hours times your hourly rate for that service, plus extras and any rush surcharge. Cost is what those hours cost you in labor, supplies and travel. The difference is your gross margin, and the calculator also shows the effective hourly rate, which is the number to compare against competitors who quote "per hour".
These defaults are common US mid-market numbers in 2026. Your market will differ, so change them in the assumptions and the whole calculation follows.
